Math Benchmark
The CVSS Mathematics Benchmark System of Formative Assessment:
- is a standards-based system grounded in the concept
that a student must demonstrate mastery (85 percent) on all concept tests.
- includes three parallel assessments at each grade
level; assuming some students will not achieve mastery upon the first initial test.
- lends itself well to a variety of intervention programs,
assisting teachers in the implementation of a re-teaching/re-testing cycle.
- includes three forms of 79 examinations ranging from
math facts to algebra and probability.
- is fully aligned with California's rigorous Content
Standards in Mathematics in each grade level and includes appropriate math facts
assessments.
- ensures consistent rigor throughout a grade level
across a school or a district.
